Don’t Give up // Winter Style

It’s Sunday again! Like I’ve said before, my favorite day of the week. Today is really cold and raining. Because of the weather and the baby, we didn’t make our 9 am service at church. We did church at home. Watching my boys worship God and sing their little hearts out always makes me cry. It makes me wonder how much more pleased God must be of our worship if my heart melts when I see my sons worship. It is so beautiful. Our hearts were created to worship God with our spirit. It is so edifying to our soul when we connect with our Creator. My husband talked about the story in Mark 9:14. How the boy that was possessed by a demon was delivered by Jesus. We got into a discussion with the kids about how God calls us to have faith. We also started talking about the deciples and how they were arguing over who was better. How as human beings, it is always our nature to want to be the best, sometimes leading us to feeling taken advantage of, feelings of injustice. It’s so amazing how God teaches us that if we want to be first in His Kingdom, we must be willing to be last. It’s not about doing things just to do them. He is molding our hearts. Making us kind, loving and obedient in the process. I started telling the boys, as I literally reminded myself, how this life will pass us in a blink of an eye. How eternity with God is truly the prize. How we need to keep our minds and hearts on the Truth and what really matters. Not what we see, feel or hear.

I would just like to take this time to encourage you, and trust me, it is encouraging me in the process as well. God sees it all. Whatever it is that you are going through, He is watching and He is your reward. Don’t compromise your integrity over things that will pass. In the grand scheme of things, nothing is worth your salvation and eternity with our Godly Father. Keep your eye on Him. He is the ultimate judge, and so perfect too. He will reward your effort when the time is right. Don’t lose hope. Don’t give up. The Bible tells us that He will work all things for good for those who love him (Romans 8:28). Even through the injustice, He is still at work in you! And He will continue to work in your life if you allow Him. He will finish the good work He started and He will watch over you.

God bless. And again, you can always email me at lindabrillblog@gmail.com or message me for anything, I would love to hear from you.

And now for a little style inspiration, because I think we all feel better when we try to look our best. Whatever that looks like. Try to be the best version of yourself.

The day after Thanksgiving was super cold. Especially since just the day before it was like 70 degrees. The very next day was at least 30 degrees colder. I can’t lie, I enjoy it. I dislike the humidity in Texas, so the cooler weather is nice. We had planned to go pick out our Christmas tree with the kids, so I figured it was the perfect time to wear my new jacket. I found it at Nordstrom Rack, I mentioned in another blog. I wanted to be warm and still look put together. I don’t know about you, but I am loving this army green trend for fall and winter. It gives your outfit an earthy feel instantly. Love it!  Okay, can I just address the Ugg boot subject for a minute? I’ve heard it many times and even though I don’t agree, I can see why people feel that way. I’ve heard that they are ugly and frumpy. If you don’t own a pair, then you don’t understand the comfort and warmth I’m talking about here. They are so comfortable and keep my feet super warm in cold weather. Also, I think Ugg boots can look frumpy if you wear them like an after thought. I think that if you are going to wear them, you definitely have to put a little effort into your outfit or they will look messy. I love the classics. Mostly because I feel like the other styles can tend to look a little frumpy after a few wears. The classics are more slim and keep their shape for the most part. Even though I love the accessories the other options give, I prefer the classics. Again, my personal preference. Another reason I choose the classics is because I’m petite. My legs are short and I don’t want to look even more short or add to my width.

We were headed to choose a Christmas tree and it was freezing and raining on me. I couldn’t look all cute, I was actually laughing most of the time! Haha! But seriously, how cute is this jacket? And it is very warm too.

Here is a picture of my gang and I choosing our tree! Excuse the blurry picture. Even though my hubby can take a great pic on our camera, every pic he takes on a cell phone is blurry. EVERY SINGLE ONE! Count your blessings people. Lol. No seriously, I think my hubby is a saint, especially since I am a pic fanatic and he puts up with me, ha! IMG_0609
