So I saw an amazing idea on Pinterest a few years back. A mom bought a special book and had all her daughter’s teachers write something on the book so when her daughter was older she could give it to her. I thought that was the cutest idea ever! However, i went out looking for a book and I couldn’t find the one I was looking for. I also had two little ones that wanted to just go home and the school year was over in the next few days. So I did something a little different and easier. But I think it will be even more special because I get to put my own personal touch on it. I went out and got a scrapbooking book. I got the smaller paper. It is 6 1/4″x9″ paper. I got that size because I plan to decorate each page with a picture and add special stickers that coordinate with what my son or daughter was into that year. I made a note to my oldest son’s teacher and sent it to her. I made more than one note so I can keep one with me and my scrapbooking booklet, that way I can ask their teachers for the same thing every year and we can see what they chose to write. I will share my letter to their teachers in case you want to just copy mine. I have a basket for each of my kids and folders for each grade. I keep them safe in those folders. I actually started doing this when my oldest was finishing Kindergarten and I was so bummed because he had the best pre-school (K4) teacher and she had moved away. I wished I had asked her to participate. Well, to my surprise, I was sharing this story with my second son’s K4 teacher and she said, “Hey I know her! She’s on my Facebook page!” I was so excited! Haha! So I wrote to her and got her address. Mailed her a scrapbook page and an envelope with postage. She was so sweet, she wrote a note and mailed it back to me. I am honestly so grateful for the teacher’s my kids have had! I have prayed earnestly for their teachers and they have been an answered prayer. I have three from my oldest son already, i’m expecting his fourth today and I have two for my second son.
So my plan is to gift them this scrapbook when they graduate High School. I want them to have it in case they ever doubt what greatness they where meant for. They will have 14 notes in total of amazing teachers that believe in them as much as we do. I truly believe that when you tell your kids what greatness they can accomplish and you help them, not just tell them and not be involved, but help them be the best they can be! They will always want to be that person. The best they can be. I don’t know what the future holds. I am a mother of four angels and my oldest is 8. And I know at some point they will be on their own and make their own decisions. I just pray that I always honor God in everything I do for them. That He gives me the wisdom, patience and energy to always pour into them. They are my biggest accomplishment. If giving my life for my kids means I live for them and make them my priority I’m okay with that.
It is an honor to be a mother. What I love most about being a Christian mom, is that my Father tells me not to worry. To teach them His ways and He will take care of the rest. He is my peace and my guide. I live to seek Him and when I do, He gives me everything I need. It really is that simple. There is no need to stress or worry when you have the one true God guiding you. You weren’t meant to be your own god. We were meant to live submitted to Him, his authority, His love and His grace. That is such a relief if you ask me! All I have to do is seek Him and everything will be okay. I hope you are encouraged to seek your creator today. If you are stressed or anxious, lay your burdens on Him. He is more than happy to take over, trust me! :)
If you have anything you would like for me to pray with you, email me lindab1809@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to pray with you!
Praying blessings over you, Linda
