RV’s and California Dreaming…

Hey there! Happy Sunday!

It’s been a very busy week and weekend. My youngest son finished preschool and my two oldest are ready to finish Kindergarten and Second grade. We could not be more proud of them. This next week is a short week. We have two regular days of school, followed by a Kindergarten graduation. Then we have two short days and the year is over! Crazy to think how they will start a new school year shortly.

My husband and I love the outdoors. Or so we thought. When we lived in California we visited the beach every week, if not every day. We loved the mountains. My hubby taught me how to snowboard in the winter. We enjoyed camping. We loved the water! Wether it was the ocean, a lake or the pool. We loved it all. When we moved to Texas we quickly realized it was very different here. The ocean is pretty far and there are no mountains unless you drive a good 10 hours north. It has been a great place to raise a family, that is the reason we are still here. It has been great to us! Still, we miss the outdoors. I personally do not like camping with a million bugs and the humidity kills me. Still we make an effort to go to Destin or Galveston to get our fix. We look forward to those little getaways any chance we can.

As a way to get to do that more often we bought our first Motorhome back in July of last year. We were so ecstatic when we bought it! I went into nesting mode since I was 6/7 months pregnant and wanted it to feel like home. Our first trip was to Destin, Florida. It was a 15 hour drive! We have been there before so the drive doesn’t bother us at all! However, being our first motorhome meant there was a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of unknowns. It was funny and frustrating yet so much fun!! We loved every second of that trip! I was seven months pregnant when we went and lets just say it was a little hard changing or just turning when you’re that big in a small space, Lol.

So our motorhome has been sitting in our driveway for about 10 months now. I gave birth soon after we bought it. Then the winter arrived and we haven’t been able to take it back out. We are itching to take it out on the road again! The past two days my husband has been messing with it. There are still a few quirks we can’t figure out but know we will conquer soon! :)

All this dreaming about taking the motorhome out really has me missing home. California that is. I miss it so much some times. I just wish it was a little closer so we could go visit more often. I swear sometimes I can almost smell that ocean breeze. I can almost see the beautiful mountains off Pacific Coast Highway. I lived in the San Jose area a few years with my family when I was younger. I remember driving up north and the scenery was breathtaking! I miss it all! I miss the crowds. I miss the older houses. I miss the spots where I grew up eating at. I miss the diversity. Everyone comes from somewhere. I miss the weather…oh gosh I miss the weather!

I’m not saying it’s perfect, we know there is a reason why we are here. But it will always be home no matter where we move. I just pray we are always where the Lord wants us. I want to live to please Him. And until He says it’s time to go, we will live with intention wherever He places us. Okay I’m done rambling. I just needed to get that off my chest, haha. You will see how often I get these feelings. lol

Peace out!

Xoxo, Linda
